This Unit of the IAT Level 2 Diploma in Laboratory Animal Science and Technology provides the ability to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the principles of laboratory animal husbandry and welfare.  The sections covered are animal housing and materials, environment, routine care, bedding and nesting materials, hygiene and identification.

Note: the IAT syllabus states that guided learning hours for this module are 5 hours, with learners expected to devote another 115 hours of their time to research and assignment writing.
