When you commence studying legislation, ethics, PIL AB and/or C to apply for a Home Office personal licence, this will provide useful information specific to University of Leeds.

The Guidance on the Operation of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986 states that "Staff at a grade taking responsibility for the care and welfare of animals should be encouraged to undertake modular training to understand legislative and ethical requirements as well as to have a basic knowledge of the biology, care and husbandry aspects, including humane killing, of the species for which they care."

TLC provide this training for individuals taking care of animals, so they understand the legislation that protects animals, their own ethical responsibilities, have an understanding of the species they are caring for and are able to humanely kill those animals when necessary.
